EU donates 800,000 protective masks and 300 non-contact thermometers to Serbia.
A cargo plane, carrying medical equipment, whose transport was financed by the European Union has arrived in Serbia, carrying 800,000 protective masks and 300 non-contact thermometers, which the EU has donated to Serbia.
The masks and the thermometers are meant for the medical staff, with the goal of their protection and making the battle against the Covid-19 virus easier.
A huge thank you to ambassador Sem Fabrizi, the Delegation of the European Union in Serbia, the entire EU, our partners from member states of the European Union who have donated money not just for this flight, but for a huge part of the medical equipment on this flight. Those are, first and foremost, protective medical masks, but non-contact thermometers as well. There are also protective suits, medical suits – a little less than 200,000, which we have bought ourselves out of the budget of the Republic of Serbia, both for our health workers, but also the people from the gerontology centers. The partners from the EU have allocated considerable resources and considerable aid, even though the member states are themselves faced with great challenges in this battle
Ana Brnabić, the Prime Minister of Serbia, said.
In the following period, the delivery of respirators, laboratory equipment and tests, monitors for intensive care and the rest of the equipment which is key to the successful suppression of the Coronavirus in Serbia, according to the assessment of the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia, is expected.
